Incredible Streak : Dialog Grp returns after over A Decade to Snag a Record ! {17th Feb '25}
On Friday, the oil bunker stock plunged nearly 20% intraday as it announcement a big impairment & its first loss in a quarter century. I began buying at $1.55 & then trickled orders into the falling knife price: $1.54,$1.52, $1.51, $1.49...all the way to my lowest of $1.48 yet the sellers continued to sell in panicky fashion down to a low of $1.45. I closed my screen at 10:30am & set out to the post office to send my latest sold online item to France.
What delight to see it recover slightly to $1.51 by lunch break & then continue to find huge buying support that swelled the volume by tens of millions of shares every ten minutes or so, touching $1.58 as the volume came up to over 208 million shares by the close, presumably as intra-day short-sellers panicked in turn seeing such ferocious buying!
Today, two hundred shares were released at the $1.57 open[ compared to my $1.5133 average cost] & a further 181 were sold for between $1.54 & $1.57 in the odd-lot market as the twentieth contributor to my financial freedom cemented a new record, after it memorably put a full-stop to my first streak over 100 consecutive market days on 5th Dec 2014[105 days]!
The combined total thus surpasses the 1,148 points on Oct 23rd '24 to draw level with the 1,149 points the next day as OSK Holdings served out its last round last year at joint 47th highest.....with the pole position occupied by Dec 31st '24 at 1,207 points.
