Live Streak : Supermax Spurts early on & is pared down to 5,555 shares ! {7th Feb '25}

   Ah, the relief!!! A prescient instinct to hold back on selling Gamuda for the 2nd day in a row as it goes ex-dividend gave way to a decision to sell 13-time scorer Supermax at $1.21 instead. An initial order to sell 800 was reduced at the last moment to 700 & fortunately so, as the market rapidly ate up the sellers at $1.22, then $1.23 & $1.24 in quick succession, paused a little & then proceeded to take out $1.25 & $1.26 by 9:06am as I happily dripped my holdings into the seller's market at the latter prices. By the time the price retreated in earnest at 9:10am, I had unloaded 1,720 shares at an average above $1.23 and happily went out for an early lunch.

As I joyfully enjoyed my Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf free-cake-with-2-coffee-purchase voucher from 11:30 am till 2pm, I monitored the Japanese stock market's weakness & wondered which of my numerous targets to buy next. In the end, I settled on 2-month-eyed Lonseal ロンシール which counts chemical giant Tosoh as a 38% major holder as it announced a 43% hike in forecast profit & actually spiked up to a¥1,563 apex shortly before I placed a queued long position bet at ¥1,509, and then watched in dismay as it fell to ¥1,496 & ¥1,475 briefly before finally getting a confirmation at ¥1,485 thus saving ¥2,400 on my hundred shares, enough to pay for the coffees & cake twice over! This company has traded higher than my entry as long ago as 1973, a very, very significant year!!!

The attainment of 1,123 consecutive days in the streak & 1,138 points, tying with 14th Oct '24 for 55th place in the all-time list, became almost an afterthought as another 日本 equity, Shinto 新東, which denied me the equalizer to 2023's record tally in Tokyo due to greed in not taking a surefire profit of over 100% off the table, rose by limit-UP, boosted by a great set of results! Compounding my joy is the drop in telco giant NTT, holding out the hope of having a second bite at earning from the stock I barely missed purchasing at ¥148.8 for its Sept '24 dividend. A chance to buy bombed out Ibiden on the 'cheap' could also emerge on Monday!
