The cash balances in my 3 accounts total slightly over $47,000. This is a far cry from around $5,000 at the beginning of 2009.

Counting my trust account at my stockbroker, this total climbs further to over $63,000, a 1160% surge over the 5k at the beginning of 2009.

Making $ from the stockmarket these days is like drawing blood from a stone...

...but I still benefitted from some timely sales ~ XDL @ 55c ( 36 c now), KPS @ $1.72($1.42 now), KHSB @ 53.5c(47c now),ComCorp @ 36-40c(31.5c now) and Sanbumi @ 37.5c(33.5c now)

However, I'm still struggling with my lack of patience as far as holding profitable positions go.

What I lack most now is : DISCIPLINE!

I have this almost uncontrollable urge to switch from profitable positions(no matter how miniscule the profits are) to those that I wish to assume and those I have a conviction about, always dumping the adage that 'The biggest profits are made by sitting and doing nothing'

Oh, well....investment is a continuing journey for me: self-discovery, self-control and self-examination.

I don't think I'm ready to participate in the futures markets as yet.



By the way, my savings account balance is now 38% above my end-2009 balance. That is a major consolation for the nearly non-existent investment returns from the stockmarket.

Was also feeling a little blessed from the achievement of a major milestone in my tutoring business today so...


...I bought 4 sets of numbers at two lottery outlets for a total outlay of $46. Spent $11.50 on lunch and a drink.

There's reason to celebrate ~ I banked in another over 1k sum into my savings account and deposited a cheque worth several hundred, bringing the total in my two bank accounts to over $46 000.

A New All-Time High of 4,537 points for my Tutoring Index!

Beating the old high by just 2 points : 4,537 - 4,535, set on Feb 11th this year.

The total hours taught for 2010 is now 304, while the total for 2009-2010 thus far is 1006 hours.

The previous week and last week are,respectively, the busiest weeks for tutoring ever!

Week of 21st Feb - 28th Feb 2010 ~ 43.5 hours ( 8 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 8 + 5.5 )

Week of 1st Mar - 7th Mar 2010 ~ 41.5 hours ( 8 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 7.5 )

Finally...a Thousand(1000) Hours taught...one Grand...more than 1 1/3 month if considered in toto.

The big day has arrived when I have reached the big threshold I was aiming for since the start of the year :1000...1000...1000.

But only just.

But also right on the dot.

Not a minute more nor a minute less!And just in the nick of time as Sunday cedes the current week past to the new...



March the 7th will be a day that is etched in my memory!

I actually celebrated a little by splurging on lunch and dinner today, the two tabs coming up to a grand total of $43.70, the 3rd-highest daily expenditure for 2010 thus far.

After a dinner of Teriyaki Chicken with fries, salad and ice cream, my mum and I proceeded to the renowned Sidewalk Cafe for a small sundae each.

984.5 hours since 2009 as the weekdays end and the weekends begin...

984.5 hours....so close to 1000, and yet so far.

Was hoping to reach the magical threshold by this Sunday, but it's projected to fall just short

Whaddaya know...I have 22% more cash than the Winter Olympic gold medal bonus for each Korean athlete

It was reported in today's papers that the South Korean government is dishing out 20 million won(about US$34 772)to each of its Olympic gold medallists from the recent Vancouver Games.

I converted all my current cash-in-hand amounts to US$, added the totals up and discovered that I have over US$42 500 cash in various accounts(in M'sia, S'pore and China), which is 22% more than the said cash bonus.

Certainly gives me a feeling of being relatively well-off! LOL

12 hours of teaching on Monday and Tuesday...970.5-hour total closes in on the 1000-hour threshold!

I doubt the psychological four-digit threshold will be breached by this Sunday, but it should be a done deal by the following week!

My Savings account sees the biggest deposit since almost a year ago.

The amount: $1,650. (The highest thus far is $1,800 on March 10th 2009)

Bringing the total to $34,413.88, the highest ever,up 32% from the end-2009 balance, and up 13% in a month.
