2009 total, here I come...

Expenditure for 26/5...and a rather unexpected $300!

A little ahead of schedule, my current account was credited with $300 today, bringing the total in that account past $11 000.

25/5: Tutored another 2 hours to bring 2010's total to 635 hours.

This means I need to tutor another 67 hours to equal 2009's total.

25/5: Deposited over $1 250 to bring my cash total to well over $56k

Including the cash amounts sitting in my Singapore dollar accounts and safe deposits, these add up to about $ 115 200.

Throwing in the estimate for my foreign currency banknotes based on current exchange rates, this adds up to about $ 141 170.

3 days in a row of ZERO expenditure...613.5 hours tutored means 88.5 left to equal 2009's total!

Global equity and commodity markets are tanking badly as I blog, but the saving grace is that I have only about 25% or so of my money in equities, the lowest allocation to a currently declining asset in at least nine years.

Expenditure for 20/5:

(20/5/2010) : $0

For the first time in over 2 months, I have made it three days in a row of zero expenditure!

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

609.5 hours taught until 19th May...

...meaning 92.5 hours left till I equal my 2009 total!

600 hours passed!

601.5 to be exact, making it a total of 1,303.5 since 2009.

To break out from the usual routine of lunch at home, I walked out to a nearby food centre and ordered good chicken rice for a mere $3, bought some deserts,a couple of numbers, then browsed some magazines, and finally walked home, spending slightly over $12 in total.

Expenditure for 17/5:

(17/5/10): $12.30

Sunday, May 16, 2010

595.5 hours tutored this year, 85% of my total for 2009!

Hopefully the countdown of the last hundred hours to the 2009 target of 702 will begin by Tuesday, if not tomorrow.

Expenditure for 15/5 - 16/5

(15/5/2010): $0

(16/5/2010): $0

Saturday, May 15, 2010

592 hours tutored in 2010 thus far...another 110 to equal 2009's total.

Having tutored a total of 702 hours in the first year of my 'business' in 2009, I'm now looking for 2010 to smash that record by the middle of June at the latest.

Hopefully, this will occur before the anticipated slowdown due to the conclusion of the IGCSE examinations(they began on the 11th of this month) next month!

Expenditure for 14/5/10

(14/5/2010) : $9.30

$55 000 reached....technically.

With the payment of $200 by a pupil today, I have more than 55k of local currency cash in the bank and at hand.

Celebrated Mother's Day at a small Italian restaurant

The original top two choices were ruled out because one(Michaelangelo's) had a crowd waiting outside while the other(My Point) was presumably full-house also as it was a popular value-for-$ restaurant.

We settled for something called SSTC, which stands for something-Sweet-Tea-Cafe or something like that.

My parents weren't so happy with the two types of spaghetti we ordered to share, one with chicken and tomato sauce, while the other having cream and lemon peel slices.

I liked the latter ( my 'father' proclaimed it to be 'too rich', not that I give a damn about what he thinks these days!) better than the former, which tasted pedestrian at best.

Impulsively, I ordered the Tiramisu after the spaghetti was gone, followed by a Hot Mocha for myself.

The bill came up to less that $100, so I wasn't that disappointed.

Expenditure for 5/5 to 9/5:

(5/5/2010) : $2

(6/5/2010) : $3.40

(7/5/2010) : $8.90

(8/5/2010) : $0

(9/5/2010) : $1.80 + $88( Mother's Day treat)
