Epic Streak : Straddling 5 Years ! [2 Jan till 30 Jan 2024]

The last day of 2023 saw an announcement by the Lee Rubber family-controlled companies Sungei Bagan & Kuchai that was the most major in their long listed histories: the former would buy over the major assets, sans cash, of the latter via an issue of shares at a value that was triple the last traded price. I queued to buy a big amount of Sungei Bagan before the market open on 2 Jan 2024 but missed matching the order by 1 sen! As predicted, the price of the former soared after opening at $3.43, allowing me to sell a portion of my 'trapped' margined shares purchased as high as $3.65 for the 1st winner of the year:

Realising that it was likely to go much higher, I quickly bought back some shares higher the same day in my ordinary account[at $4.006] & just as quickly sold 2/3 of it at more than 19-year highs of  $4.27 & $4.31 the next day, in tandem with another contra gain on a 2nd stock, Knusford, which soared 8% to as high as 98c. Sungei Bagan then contributed a 3rd time on Jan 4th with a sale of 200 shares at $4.29, before passing the marathon baton to partial sale of bourse operator Bursa M'sia to reach 848 consecutive days:

Kossan Rubber, averaged down 7 times from '21-'22 down to $1.80 took the baton on Monday 8th January with a partial sale at $1.96-1.98 & handed it to new #5 Golden Pharos on the 9th. Overnight, Rohas Technic announced a big contract & its rocketing price on the morning of the 10th was partially sold into for just over 43c, crystallizing a 43.8% gain on the 10th. 2023's 18-time winner YTL Corp debuted on 11th Jan with a sale above its old 2012 all-time record of $2.11 for new #7 securing 852 days in a row. Kossan stepped back into the fray with another sale earning 17% in nearly 2 years to cap the week on Friday the 12th:

The previous year's 7-time winner & #76 Naim Holdings paired up with a 2nd sale of #2 Knusford at close to 90c to renew the record to 854 consecutive days on Monday 15h January, the latter then switching partners to pair with new #9 Gadang on the 16th: shares bought below 30c were sold for 38.5c while Knusford exited partially at what turned out to be close to the highest prices for the last 9 years. #4 Kossan Rubber then stretched the streak with a hat3rick sale at just under $2.10 on the 17th. Kumpulan Perangsang S'gor repeated from '23 as #10 on the 18th, in another pairing with new #11  & former 2015 & 2022 winner Imaspro due to the latter's shares partially sold after a knife-catching purchase the previous day for the 3rd contra gain of 2024. Investment bank OSK Holdings then stepped up to the mantle of scalp #12 with a first sale of the shares purchased at an adjusted $1.1078 way back in 2016 subsequent to pocketing 16 dividends on the 19th:

Another pairing, of new #13 WIDAD Group & a 2nd sale of #6 Rohas Technic, featured on Monday 22nd Jan, the former via a contra gain, which was repeated by new #14 Mercury Securities on the 23rd.  Fresh 15th winner Leform made it 3 contra gains in a row with a 21% gain in 2 days due to another knife-catching operation as quite a number of plummeting penny stocks caught out by margin calls. Knusford secured a 4th win on the 26th after the January 25th Thaipusam holiday, bagging 400 consecutive days beyond the prior '17-'18 record:

The last 3 days of January witnessed a 2nd sale of #7 YTL Corp at $2.41 on the 29th, then ceding the streak to a duo of new #16 TAS Offshore & #17 Subur Tiasa on the 30th before retaking the reins on the 31st for a hat3rick sale at $2.37:
