The Record Marathon WIN streak : Euphoria Echo [1 Dec till 31 Dec 2020]
The last month of 2020 witnessed many stocks which had not been ramped in previous months begin to come to life. Client-recommended Censof delivered a hat3rick while Engtex delivered a 2nd round on the 1st, subsequently handing the baton to another pair of stocks which attracted significantly increased volumes : Wah Seong & YLI. On Thursday 3 Dec, steel stock Ann Joo which had risen from 72c to $1.15 in the past 5 days was sold to become winner #149. The next day, client recommendation Choo Bee went ballistic & was sold together with Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor to nail 150 winners AND 88 consecutive days:
Handal Resources opened the following Monday 7th Dec as #151 & handed the baton to the pair of Jetson & Ann Joo, the latter scoring again & exiting on a further advance. A rare trio of MTD ACPI, Bright Packaging & Telekom M'sia(TM) secured 91 in a row on 9 Dec, then passed the baton to another duo of Evergreen Fibreboard & MBSB, which in turn handed on to another pair of Sin Heng Chan & Hexza, the former spurting intra-day while the latter went ex-dividend:
A weak echo of my Sino Hua-An triumph in '17/'18 manifested the next week as a speculative position entered @ 13.5c the previous year paid off on Monday & Tuesday 14-15 Dec in succession, hat3ricking with Alliance Bank reaping a similar % gain on on the first day together with Suria Capital shares purchased in July & Fajarbaru Builder shares bought on a plunging reaction to the '18 General Election, were disposed completely on the 2nd day of the week to clinch a triple-double:
On Wednesday 16 Dec, Censof continued to rise & was pared, forming a quartet together with Lion Posim purchased in late '19, Muhibbah bought in Feb & Oct/Nov '20 & older Arab Malaysian Bank shares all sold to secure 96 consecutive days:
Two fresh winners were secured on Thursday 17th Dec with the first sale of #165 Cheetah purchased in Sep '20 & #166 Tashin shares purchased a year prior. Friday closed with a flourishing hat3rick as Cheetah featured again, rising strongly by 10c & sold together with a 2-day contra trade on REIT KLCC Stapled Securities & a 2/3 exit of Eastern & Oriental shares purchased in September for 40c, at 48-49c:The money game became really easy as speculative syndicate/retail funds seemed to return after the quiescence surrounding the US elections with a trio/quartet of stock hat3ricks on the 1st 3 days of the 3rd week of December: Paragon Union was sold near 70c after its debut in October on a price spike through 50c, while Jaycorp & Pineapple Resources were both sold into strength to secure #169 & #170 of '20 while bagging 99 consecutive days:
Tuesday 22nd December one-upped Monday with a four-bagger: recently ramped Landmarks, nearly 3-year-held M'sia Smelting plus 2nd rounds on both Metro Kajang & Handal Resources fittingly attaining the CENTURY streak:
Kim Hin Joo, Theta Edge & WMG, all purchased from Jul-Sep '20 furnished the hat3rick on Wednesday 23rd Dec as they began to experience volume spikes while Ajiya, purchased almost 3 years prior was escaped from & paired with a sale of YTL REIT shares bought during an early Aug selloff, jointly reached 102 in a row on X'mas Eve.
The speculative fervour continued the week after Christmas with a bevy of doubles on 28th Dec [Chuan Huat & Hwa Tai], Mitrajaya & Gadang on 30th Dec, AISB & Edaran on the last day of the year with the rare [metallic] quartet repeating on 29th Dec in the form of AISB, Southern Steel, KSSC & aluminium product maker A-Rank. This was perhaps because investors began to seriously price in a post-pandemic steel & construction recovery:
Very satisfying too was that 2020 pipped 2017's record tally of winners 183-182 at the wire when Gadang debuted at #183 on the penultimate day of 2020. The year-end streak also pipped the previous record from Jun 30th till Dec 5th 2014 by ONE day!
I celebrated the most unexpectedly bullish flourish to a adversity-ravaged year with my first visit to Starbucks Coffee in 4 months!
